Benefits of a Face Masque

Facial masque’s have been used as cosmetic treatments since ancient times to help nourish and rejuvenate the skin.  These specialized treatments are meant to remove all the impurities and dead skin cells which can cause acne and other skin conditions.  They leave the skin feeling smooth and soft and help promote overall health and skin cell regeneration.  There are many different natural elements that will enhance the effect of your custom made masque. There are active ingredients that are hydrating, exfoliating, healing, nourishing or deep cleansing. Choose the ingredients that you believe will most benefit your face.

What is most amazing about clay masque’s is how they impart their detoxifying and nourishing effects. As the clay masque dries it exchanges nutrients in the clay for toxins in the skin. When suspended in water, clay develops a negative charge. This negative charge attracts the positively charged toxins within the skin and literally pulls them out of the skin. As the clay draws out toxins, it deposits nutrients, including trace minerals like silica, INTO the skin.  Clay is a great source of trace minerals that our bodies cannot produce on its own, but are required for healthy, soft, glowing skin. It is truly incredible how something as simple as clay has such a sophisticated cleansing effect.

Including a clay face mask in your skincare routine not only gives you the added detoxifying and nourishing benefits, but can also help you get better results from your current skincare products. Start by applying a thick layer of a clay face mask to freshly cleansed skin. Allow the mask to dry completely on your skin (about 15-20 minutes) and then rinse with warm water. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Then tone and moisturize your skin. You will IMMEDIATELY notice a more radiant complexion. Clay is truly amazing!
